Lagavulin 16yo White Horse Distillers release - DISCONTINUED - 43% 1 Litre
This is a bottle brought in by a customer who had opened it the night before, only to discover the cork had disintegrated. It in fact a bottling from the early 1990s, before current owners Diageo came into existence, as it has 'White Horse Distillers Glasgow' on the bottom of the front label and a Royal Warrant on both bottle and box. This is considered one of the absolute best representations of the 16yo ever released, and is highly sought after by collectors. Once the customer had recovered from the shock, he asked me if I would be able to sell it, as he would be able to use the money towards his family as opposed to drinking the bottle. I've done some investigations and also taken the smallest possible sample from the bottle, and I am confident that the liquid inside is Lagavulin that hasn't been touched. As such, I'm listing this with as much honesty as I can - the bottle has been opened, there are still bits of cork in the top of it, but the fill level is pristine and I do believe the customer is being truthful in his statement he opened it the night before. It will be resealed with parafilm to ensure no evaporation, but the price has been set at a level that acknowledges this is not an unopened bottle. As such the purchaser of this bottle accepts any liability in the liquid not being as stated.
