Back in October 2011, Ardbeg sent a few small samples of unaged whisky into space - to research the effects of zero gravity on the liquid.
Ardbeg Supernova had already been released back in 2009 as the peatiest expression from the distillery to that date, and now Supernova and 'space whisky' has been forever conjoined.
Whereas 'standard' Ardbeg is peated to around 45-55 PPM (phenol parts per million) the Supernova bottlings were around 100 PPM - increasing the rich, full smoky flavour so associated with the distillery. The use of first-fill Sherry casks also beefed up the sweeter notes that work so well with the intense, almost oily smokiness that one finds.
This particular bottling was released in 2014, and is an exclusive bottling for Ardbeg Committee members. Only 3000 bottles were produced, and they sold out within minutes. The flavour profile is as immense as one would expect, with rich fruity sweetness underlying incredibly deep dark smoky notes.
This bottle is being sold on behalf of a customer of The Spirit Specialist. The bottle is fully sealed and intact and the fill level is high. The condition of the bottle is excellent, it is clear this has been carefully looked after - although there is a slight dink on the front label, which you can see in a close up picture. It also has the promotional neck label attached, which is also in excellent condition.

PLEASE NOTE: The Spirit Specialist is CLOSED on Sundays and Mondays - all orders are collected by Royal Mail the day after they are packaged up. As such, if you place an order on a Saturday, Sunday or Monday, your order will be packaged up on the following Tuesday at re-opening, and then collected by Royal Mail on the Wednesday morning. PLEASE BEAR THIS IN MIND IF YOU ARE WORKING TO A DEADLINE!

All products are securely packaged in Air-Shock bottle bags or frankly excessive amounts of bubble wrap for additional protection.
All goods must be examined at the time of delivery and any damages or shortage must be recorded on the relevant delivery acceptance forms with the delivery. Un-examined or un-checked goods that result in a subsequent claim outside of a 48 hour period will not be accepted. Queries relating to claims must be made within 48 hours of receiving the goods, otherwise claims cannot be guaranteed.
