Compass Box was founded by entrepreneur John Glaser in 2000 - formerly a marketing director for the Johnnie Walker brand, the American has becoming a controversial figure within the whisky industry. However, his controversy is more to do with tradtionalists who are shaken by his determination to highlight the skill in blending and the transparency behind the work going into producing whiskies that use spirit from more than one distillery. For him, it's about educating the consumer, whereas there is still a large section of the industry that wants to hide behind obfuscation and marketing - ironic considering Glaser's previous role!
Hedonism was the very first release from Compass Box, an initial effort to highlight just how flavourful grain whiskies can be - a category which is often derided as 'filler' for blended whiskies.
The receipe changes batch to batch, so it's best to head to the Compass Box website and check out the back label to see what you might have in your bottle - however the sweet pastry cream and soft toffee notes are a consistent flavour profile throughout each batch. Since I first tried it not long after it launched, Hedonism has been one of my favourite whiskies of all time - the combination of sweet and dry spice is an absolute joy.

Shipping rates are based on WEIGHT of goods - the total weight of your order will determine the cost of the shipping charge due to price banding imposed by Royal Mail. Orders weighing up to a max of 2kg will be charged £5.99, and orders weighing over 2kg will be charged £7.99. ANY PURCHASE OVER £150 WILL RECEIVE FREE SHIPPING.
PLEASE NOTE: The Spirit Specialist is CLOSED on Sundays and Mondays - all orders are collected by Royal Mail the day after they are packaged up. As such, if you place an order on a Saturday, Sunday or Monday, your order will be packaged up on the following Tuesday at re-opening, and then collected by Royal Mail on the Wednesday morning. PLEASE BEAR THIS IN MIND IF YOU ARE WORKING TO A DEADLINE!

All orders are sent on a Tracked service with Royal Mail, which provides a Tracking Number for you to follow its journey to your destination.
Items are NOT insured as standard, please contact us if you would like to discuss additional insurance for premium products.
All products are securely packaged in Air-Shock bottle bags or frankly excessive amounts of bubble wrap for additional protection.
All goods must be examined at the time of delivery and any damages or shortage must be recorded on the relevant delivery acceptance forms with the delivery. Un-examined or un-checked goods that result in a subsequent claim outside of a 48 hour period will not be accepted. Queries relating to claims must be made within 48 hours of receiving the goods, otherwise claims cannot be guaranteed.
