Just on the other side of the M5 motorway which sweeps around the west edge of Birmingham sits the West Midlands Distillery, a venture originally set up in 2017 by Jordan Lunn. His great-grandfather was a brewer, his great uncle a distiller and his mother a publican, so alcohol was always part of his heritage, and after several years of dabbling in small scale production he decided to move full-time into distilling, opening a distillery in Netherton in 2018 and encouraging family members to help him. The gin brand would be named after his nickname 'Dreamer'.
In 2020 the site moved to Rowley Regis and expanded to include a bar, bottle shop and visitors centre. A single malt whisky is on the way - the first from the Midlands - and the business also produces spirits under contract.
Recently Dr. Eamers gins underwent a bold rebranding, with bottles designed by Jordan's brother-in-law. The distinctive glass is hand-painted to evoke flowers - or in the case of the vodka waves of the sea - introducing a beautifully tactile effect.
The London Dry gin uses a wheat base spirit with 10 botanicals - juniper, coriander seeds, angelica root, liquorice root, Tellicherry pepper, lemon thyme, white lavender, grapefruit, lemon and black lime. The citrus note are upfront to start, supported by a soft floral sweetness in the mid-palate before the spicy note arrive on the finish. There's a pleasant bite but it's not too sharp - there's enough to cut through mixers but it's also soft enough to work in gin-forward cocktails.

Shipping rates are based on WEIGHT of goods - the total weight of your order will determine the cost of the shipping charge due to price banding imposed by Royal Mail. Orders weighing up to a max of 2kg will be charged £5.99, and orders weighing over 2kg will be charged £7.99. ANY PURCHASE OVER £150 WILL RECEIVE FREE SHIPPING.
PLEASE NOTE: The Spirit Specialist is CLOSED on Sundays and Mondays - all orders are collected by Royal Mail the day after they are packaged up. As such, if you place an order on a Saturday, Sunday or Monday, your order will be packaged up on the following Tuesday at re-opening, and then collected by Royal Mail on the Wednesday morning. PLEASE BEAR THIS IN MIND IF YOU ARE WORKING TO A DEADLINE!

All products are securely packaged in Air-Shock bottle bags or frankly excessive amounts of bubble wrap for additional protection.
All goods must be examined at the time of delivery and any damages or shortage must be recorded on the relevant delivery acceptance forms with the delivery. Un-examined or un-checked goods that result in a subsequent claim outside of a 48 hour period will not be accepted. Queries relating to claims must be made within 48 hours of receiving the goods, otherwise claims cannot be guaranteed.
