Purchased from Chivas in 2017 by whisky blender and entrepreneur Billy Walker - who had previously revitalised Benriach and Glendronach - Glenallachie has enjoyed a resurgence in popularity since it's relaunch in 2018, mainly thanks to a core selection which have been consistently excellent thanks to a dedicated focus on wood quality for maturation - care and attention is given to every cask in their 16 warehouses both before and after being filled with spirit.
Launched in April 2022, the 8yo is a new entry into the Glenallachie core range, offering an introduction to the rich and fruity character the distillery is so renowned for. Predominently a combination whisky matured in Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso Sherry casks, along with a small amount that spent time in Virgin oak and Rioja red wine barriques, this offers a deliciously spicy thanks to its youth, while still offering upfront notes of raisins and dark chocolate covered cherries and even a touch of menthol.
It's a great representation of what Glenallachie offers at a very reasonable price, and continues the run of stunning whiskies continually put out by the team!

Shipping rates are based on WEIGHT of goods - the total weight of your order will determine the cost of the shipping charge due to price banding imposed by Royal Mail. Orders weighing up to a max of 2kg will be charged £5.99, and orders weighing over 2kg will be charged £7.99. ANY PURCHASE OVER £150 WILL RECEIVE FREE SHIPPING.
PLEASE NOTE: The Spirit Specialist is CLOSED on Sundays and Mondays - all orders are collected by Royal Mail the day after they are packaged up. As such, if you place an order on a Saturday, Sunday or Monday, your order will be packaged up on the following Tuesday at re-opening, and then collected by Royal Mail on the Wednesday morning. PLEASE BEAR THIS IN MIND IF YOU ARE WORKING TO A DEADLINE!

All orders are sent on a Tracked service with Royal Mail, which provides a Tracking Number for you to follow its journey to your destination.

All products are securely packaged in Air-Shock bottle bags or frankly excessive amounts of bubble wrap for additional protection.
All goods must be examined at the time of delivery and any damages or shortage must be recorded on the relevant delivery acceptance forms with the delivery. Un-examined or un-checked goods that result in a subsequent claim outside of a 48 hour period will not be accepted. Queries relating to claims must be made within 48 hours of receiving the goods, otherwise claims cannot be guaranteed.
