Based just outside Sheffield City Centre, Bryn Hawkins set up his own distillery in 2020 - completely self-taught, he reads as much as he could before actually distilling to ensure he could hit the ground running without wasting stock through experimentation.
Sloe Gin is actually pretty tricky to get right - sloes are naturally pretty sour, so Sloe Gin needs an addition of sugar to knock down the sharpness and bring out the fruitier notes. However quite a lot of Sloe Gin releases either overload the sugar quantity, making it sweet and almost gunky, or don't put enough in which results in a dry, almost bitter spirit.
Fortunately, Bryn does a LOT of work with each batch he makes to ensure the balance is spot-on. There's a lovely contrast of sweet and tart here, with the berry notes being pronounced and clear. It's incredibly enjoyable to drink chilled from the fridge on it's own, or added to a glass of bubbly or even soda water. For something a bit different, try a dash over the top of really good vanilla ice cream too!

Shipping rates are based on WEIGHT of goods - the total weight of your order will determine the cost of the shipping charge due to price banding imposed by Royal Mail. Orders weighing up to a max of 2kg will be charged £5.99, and orders weighing over 2kg will be charged £7.99. ANY PURCHASE OVER £150 WILL RECEIVE FREE SHIPPING.
PLEASE NOTE: The Spirit Specialist is CLOSED on Sundays and Mondays - all orders are collected by Royal Mail the day after they are packaged up. As such, if you place an order on a Saturday, Sunday or Monday, your order will be packaged up on the following Tuesday at re-opening, and then collected by Royal Mail on the Wednesday morning. PLEASE BEAR THIS IN MIND IF YOU ARE WORKING TO A DEADLINE!

All orders are sent on a Tracked service with Royal Mail, which provides a Tracking Number for you to follow its journey to your destination.
Items are NOT insured as standard, please contact us if you would like to discuss additional insurance for premium products.
All products are securely packaged in Air-Shock bottle bags or frankly excessive amounts of bubble wrap for additional protection.
All goods must be examined at the time of delivery and any damages or shortage must be recorded on the relevant delivery acceptance forms with the delivery. Un-examined or un-checked goods that result in a subsequent claim outside of a 48 hour period will not be accepted. Queries relating to claims must be made within 48 hours of receiving the goods, otherwise claims cannot be guaranteed.
