Indri Diwali 2023 Edition Single Malt Indian Whisky 58% 70cl
- DetailsSince 2012, the Piccadilly Group has been producing malt whisky made from 6-row Indian barley in the town of Indri, situated in the northern province of Haryana in the foothills of the Himalayas. The distillery even operates its own maltings, which are partly supplied with solar energy. As noted on the front label, 'Indri' in Sanskrit refers to the five senses, all of which the whisky is attempting to stimulate.
The Diwali Collector's Edition is an ongoing annual release to celebrate the biggest and most important holiday of the year in India, taking place at the end of October or start of November.
The 2023 Edition features peated Indian six-row barley that has been aged in Pedro Ximenez Sherry barrels for around 5 years - although the intense and volatile Indian climate results in more interaction between spirit and wood, so some people will argue it matures 'faster' than cooler climates. The smoke element is pleasantly subdued and the sweetness from the PX casks provides a wonderful dark fruit note that the soft waves of smoke thread through. A drop of water will help temper the heat and allow the fruity notes to come to the fore.
Only 421 bottles were produced and after winning 'Best In Show' at the Whiskies of the World awards in late 2023 demand has been huge. I've been extremely lucky to acquire only 3 bottles from the supplier and it's highly unlikely any more will be available, so don't miss out!

Orders weighing up to a max of 2kg will be charged £5.99, and orders weighing over 2kg will be charged £7.99. ANY PURCHASE OVER £150 WILL RECEIVE FREE SHIPPING.
PLEASE NOTE: The Spirit Specialist is CLOSED on Sundays and Mondays - all orders are collected by Royal Mail the day after they are packaged up. As such, if you place an order on a Saturday, Sunday or Monday, your order will be packaged up on the following Tuesday at re-opening, and then collected by Royal Mail on the Wednesday morning. PLEASE BEAR THIS IN MIND IF YOU ARE WORKING TO A DEADLINE!

All products are securely packaged in Air-Shock bottle bags or frankly excessive amounts of bubble wrap for additional protection.
All goods must be examined at the time of delivery and any damages or shortage must be recorded on the relevant delivery acceptance forms with the delivery. Un-examined or un-checked goods that result in a subsequent claim outside of a 48 hour period will not be accepted. Queries relating to claims must be made within 48 hours of receiving the goods, otherwise claims cannot be guaranteed.
