Macallan bottlings released prior to the turn of the Millenium has proved to be incredibly sought-after in recent years, as it has generally been considered that once the brand owners started playing around with Bourbon cask maturation the rich, fruity Sherry influences that made the brand so popular started to decline.
As such, Macallan distilled in the 1960s, 70s and 80s are rocketing in price as drinkers try to get their hands on what little stock remains.
This 18yo release was distilled in 1973 and bottled at some point in 1991.
This bottle is being sold on behalf of a customer of The Spirit Specialist - indeed he lives on the same street as me, so I can place some trust in him. It has been sat in loft storage for some time and as such has a number of imperfections.
The seal has split in one place but remains sealed around the remainder, although it is apparent that seal has been nudged and creased. The fill level is good but not as high as some other bottle image can indicate, it is possible due to the small split on the seal there is some minor evaporation but it is difficult to confirm.
The cardboard packaging has retained some water damage but is still in one piece, and the bottle label is generally in good condition.
Following discussions with the seller I am confident that the liquid inside is genuine and untouched and the pricing has been set to reflect these issues.

PLEASE NOTE: The Spirit Specialist is CLOSED on Sundays and Mondays - all orders are collected by Royal Mail the day after they are packaged up. As such, if you place an order on a Saturday, Sunday or Monday, your order will be packaged up on the following Tuesday at re-opening, and then collected by Royal Mail on the Wednesday morning. PLEASE BEAR THIS IN MIND IF YOU ARE WORKING TO A DEADLINE!

All products are securely packaged in Air-Shock bottle bags or frankly excessive amounts of bubble wrap for additional protection.
All goods must be examined at the time of delivery and any damages or shortage must be recorded on the relevant delivery acceptance forms with the delivery. Un-examined or un-checked goods that result in a subsequent claim outside of a 48 hour period will not be accepted. Queries relating to claims must be made within 48 hours of receiving the goods, otherwise claims cannot be guaranteed.
