You've probably seen the distinctive Mermaid Gin and Mermaid Pink Gin in various places. It's certainly an eye-catching bottle, but it's their Sea Salt Vodka that absolutely blows me away.
Wight Salt is a small business hand harvesting salt from the South coast of the Isle of Wight, where the sea is rougher and churns up more of the ocean bed, which in turn results in more nutrients contained within the subsequent sea salt crystals.
The Isle of Wight Distillery add some Wight Salt to their grain-based Vodka distillation, which gives a distinctive yet subtle salty tang to their spirit. On the nose it's delicate, as though you're walking towards the coast but not yet hit the beach. On the palate the salt hits the tip of the tongue straight away, and there's a crispness to the finish which leaves a lovely mouthfeel.
Honestly, this is SUCH an underrated vodka - it's perfect for a Dirty Martini (a Martini with olive brine which partners brilliantly with the salt in the vodka) but if you're a fan of an Espresso Martini this takes one to a whole new level - that salty edge counters a bitter coffee like a dream!

Shipping rates are based on WEIGHT of goods - the total weight of your order will determine the cost of the shipping charge due to price banding imposed by Royal Mail. Orders weighing up to a max of 2kg will be charged £5.99, and orders weighing over 2kg will be charged £7.99. ANY PURCHASE OVER £150 WILL RECEIVE FREE SHIPPING.
PLEASE NOTE: The Spirit Specialist is CLOSED on Sundays and Mondays - all orders are collected by Royal Mail the day after they are packaged up. As such, if you place an order on a Saturday, Sunday or Monday, your order will be packaged up on the following Tuesday at re-opening, and then collected by Royal Mail on the Wednesday morning. PLEASE BEAR THIS IN MIND IF YOU ARE WORKING TO A DEADLINE!

All orders are sent on a Tracked service with Royal Mail, which provides a Tracking Number for you to follow its journey to your destination.

All products are securely packaged in Air-Shock bottle bags or frankly excessive amounts of bubble wrap for additional protection.
All goods must be examined at the time of delivery and any damages or shortage must be recorded on the relevant delivery acceptance forms with the delivery. Un-examined or un-checked goods that result in a subsequent claim outside of a 48 hour period will not be accepted. Queries relating to claims must be made within 48 hours of receiving the goods, otherwise claims cannot be guaranteed.
