Milk & Honey is Israel’s first whisky distillery, established in 2012 just south of Tel Aviv. The first ever single malt whisky for the country was released in 2017 as three-year-old malt distilled at a temporary location - distillation at the current site only started in 2015, with the help of industry legend Dr Jim Swan.
A wide variety of cask types - all of which are kosher - have been utilised by the team, and the intense climate menas maturation is 'faster' due to increased interaction between spirit and wood thanks to the greater fluctutations in temperature.Although plenty of people seemed surprised that M&H won World's Best Whisky for this Sherry Cask release at the 2023 World Whisky Awards, those who had actually experienced the output of the distillery knew it was probably just a matter of time. The extreme climate of Israel means greater interaction between spirit and wood - some dub it 'accelerated aging' - which means you can discover complex flavour profiles in a relatively short amount of time. The Sherry casks used here are Kosher, making this the first whisky ever to be matured in Kosher Sherry barrels.
This is not a 'Sherry bomb' however - the balance is impeccable, with dark fruit dancing with dried spice and even tobacco leaves. The finish is hugely complex, and it's easy to see why this ended up being an award-winner!

Shipping rates are based on WEIGHT of goods - the total weight of your order will determine the cost of the shipping charge due to price banding imposed by Royal Mail. Orders weighing up to a max of 2kg will be charged £5.99, and orders weighing over 2kg will be charged £7.99. ANY PURCHASE OVER £150 WILL RECEIVE FREE SHIPPING.
PLEASE NOTE: The Spirit Specialist is CLOSED on Sundays and Mondays - all orders are collected by Royal Mail the day after they are packaged up. As such, if you place an order on a Saturday, Sunday or Monday, your order will be packaged up on the following Tuesday at re-opening, and then collected by Royal Mail on the Wednesday morning. PLEASE BEAR THIS IN MIND IF YOU ARE WORKING TO A DEADLINE!

All orders are sent on a Tracked service with Royal Mail, which provides a Tracking Number for you to follow its journey to your destination.

All products are securely packaged in Air-Shock bottle bags or frankly excessive amounts of bubble wrap for additional protection.
All goods must be examined at the time of delivery and any damages or shortage must be recorded on the relevant delivery acceptance forms with the delivery. Un-examined or un-checked goods that result in a subsequent claim outside of a 48 hour period will not be accepted. Queries relating to claims must be made within 48 hours of receiving the goods, otherwise claims cannot be guaranteed.
