Ojo De Tigre - or 'Eye Of The Tiger', named after the tiger's eye stone that provides good fortune - is a collboration between the Casa Lumbre Distillery (producers of Abasolo corn whiskey and Nixta corn liqueur) and Mexican actor and producer Luis Gerardo Mendez – his film 'The Nobel Family' was Mexico’s highest-ever grossing film in 2013. He was also in the 2019 reboot of Charlie’s Angels and co-starred with Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston in 'Murder Mystery'
The spirit is made using Maguey,– a hardier type of Agave that can last up to 35 years before flowering. Espadin maguey from Oaxaca and Tobala maguey from Puebla are cooked in an underground pit before milling using a tahona, a traditional stone mill normally powered by a donkey or horse. Double distillation in a copper column still produces a cleaner flavour profile which accentuates quite intense peppery smoke notes, before around 6 months 'resting' (giving the term 'reposado') in ex-Bourbon barrels to impart colour and to allow the smoky tones to soften and sweeten.The end result maintain a peppery edge with hints of dark chocolate and citrus fruits to come through. It works a lot better in a Margarita than the unaged Joven, but to be honest it's fantastic just sipping neat as though it were a whisky.

Shipping rates are based on WEIGHT of goods - the total weight of your order will determine the cost of the shipping charge due to price banding imposed by Royal Mail. Orders weighing up to a max of 2kg will be charged £5.99, and orders weighing over 2kg will be charged £7.99. ANY PURCHASE OVER £150 WILL RECEIVE FREE SHIPPING.
PLEASE NOTE: The Spirit Specialist is CLOSED on Sundays and Mondays - all orders are collected by Royal Mail the day after they are packaged up. As such, if you place an order on a Saturday, Sunday or Monday, your order will be packaged up on the following Tuesday at re-opening, and then collected by Royal Mail on the Wednesday morning. PLEASE BEAR THIS IN MIND IF YOU ARE WORKING TO A DEADLINE!

All products are securely packaged in Air-Shock bottle bags or frankly excessive amounts of bubble wrap for additional protection.
All goods must be examined at the time of delivery and any damages or shortage must be recorded on the relevant delivery acceptance forms with the delivery. Un-examined or un-checked goods that result in a subsequent claim outside of a 48 hour period will not be accepted. Queries relating to claims must be made within 48 hours of receiving the goods, otherwise claims cannot be guaranteed.
