Osborne
Osborne Rojo Vermouth 15% 70cl
In 1772 a young English merchant by the name of Thomas Osborne Mann arrived in the Cádiz region to sell wines from the area. He soon began to do business in el Puerto de Santa María, and over the subsequent years acquired various wineries in the region that he would later bring together under one brand: Osborne.
Although the vast majority of red Vermouths use a base of red wines, Osborne take advantage of their considerable Sherry expertise to produce one made from Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez Sherry wines, adding a deep layer of complexity when partnered with botanicals such as wormwood, dittany and bitter orange peel. This results in a Vermouth that is on the more intense side, making it excellent for powerful cocktails such as a Manhattan or Boulevardier, but maybe a little OTT for a lighter Negroni. It also drinks very well on it's own or in a Spritz.
