Since early 2016, husband-and-wife team Simon and Chrissie Fairclough have been overseeing production of a range of characterful gins, a vodka and soon-to-be whisky. Based in the old Persie Hotel in Perthshire, the small team work with 'Phil the Still' to make small batch spirits, based initially on three core flavour profiles - fruity, savoury and sweet.
In 2018, Persie partnered with PADS - the Perthshire Abandoned Dogs Society - and released a range of gins that would evoke the character of popular breeds, and also raise money for the charity. £1 from every bottle sold is donated to PADS, or in the case of their recent Pusscat Vodka, to the Edinburgh Dog & Cat Home.
The official blurb for this states it has 'a long body' and should be served 'short'. Fine, it's a bit tenuous, but nevertheless this is a jolly tasty gin liqueur. Leftover fruit from Persie's Zesty Citrus Gin - predominently limes with a touch of blood orange - is infused into gin spirit and diluted with a sugar solution. The end result is a zingy-er drink than you might expect from a gin liqueur, with more lime-y ness cutting through. It's delicious poured straight from the freezer (bear in mind that the colder this is the better), added to a chilled glass of Champagne and as a refreshing long drink with soda water, mint and plenty of ice!

Shipping rates are based on WEIGHT of goods - the total weight of your order will determine the cost of the shipping charge due to price banding imposed by Royal Mail. Orders weighing up to a max of 2kg will be charged £5.99, and orders weighing over 2kg will be charged £7.99. ANY PURCHASE OVER £150 WILL RECEIVE FREE SHIPPING.
PLEASE NOTE: The Spirit Specialist is CLOSED on Sundays and Mondays - all orders are collected by Royal Mail the day after they are packaged up. As such, if you place an order on a Saturday, Sunday or Monday, your order will be packaged up on the following Tuesday at re-opening, and then collected by Royal Mail on the Wednesday morning. PLEASE BEAR THIS IN MIND IF YOU ARE WORKING TO A DEADLINE!

All orders are sent on a Tracked service with Royal Mail, which provides a Tracking Number for you to follow its journey to your destination.

All products are securely packaged in Air-Shock bottle bags or frankly excessive amounts of bubble wrap for additional protection.
All goods must be examined at the time of delivery and any damages or shortage must be recorded on the relevant delivery acceptance forms with the delivery. Un-examined or un-checked goods that result in a subsequent claim outside of a 48 hour period will not be accepted. Queries relating to claims must be made within 48 hours of receiving the goods, otherwise claims cannot be guaranteed.
