Originally just known as 'The Whiskey Cocktail', the Old-Fashioned is so old it is almost impossible to exactly date the origin.
Whiskey, syrup, bitters and water would commonly be taken as a daytime 'pick-me-up', but as popularity increased in the early to mid-1800s liqueurs and fruits were added to make it sweeter and more approachable. As a result, more 'traditional' drinkers would instead as for the original 'Old Fashioned' recipe.This particular Old Fashioned uses chocolate and orange notes to create a twist on the classic cocktail. The Chocolate Orange was launched in 1932 at the Terry's Chocolate Works in York - although the original Chocolate Apple preceded it by 6 years. A Chocolate Lemon was released in 1979, but poor sales meant it was withdrawn just three years later.
TO SERVE: Pour into a tumbler over a large ice cube. Slide a strip of orange peel around the rim of the glass and pinch it over the drink to spray the oils. Drop the peel into the glass along with an option dark cherry.
Please note due to syrups and purees being used in the production of these cocktails there may be some seperation within the bottles - this is perfectly natural and will not affect the flavour of the drink once prepared!

Shipping rates are based on WEIGHT of goods - the total weight of your order will determine the cost of the shipping charge due to price banding imposed by Royal Mail. Orders weighing up to a max of 2kg will be charged £5.99, and orders weighing over 2kg will be charged £7.99. ANY PURCHASE OVER £150 WILL RECEIVE FREE SHIPPING.
PLEASE NOTE: The Spirit Specialist is CLOSED on Sundays and Mondays - all orders are collected by Royal Mail the day after they are packaged up. As such, if you place an order on a Saturday, Sunday or Monday, your order will be packaged up on the following Tuesday at re-opening, and then collected by Royal Mail on the Wednesday morning. PLEASE BEAR THIS IN MIND IF YOU ARE WORKING TO A DEADLINE!

All orders are sent on a Tracked service with Royal Mail, which provides a Tracking Number for you to follow its journey to your destination.

All products are securely packaged in Air-Shock bottle bags or frankly excessive amounts of bubble wrap for additional protection.
All goods must be examined at the time of delivery and any damages or shortage must be recorded on the relevant delivery acceptance forms with the delivery. Un-examined or un-checked goods that result in a subsequent claim outside of a 48 hour period will not be accepted. Queries relating to claims must be made within 48 hours of receiving the goods, otherwise claims cannot be guaranteed.
