    Burning Barn was created by Katherine Jenner and her partner Harry, whose family owns a toffee apple company just outside Solihull. In September 2015 a fault in a sugar-cooking machine caused a fire which burnt down the main operating barn - so intensely that the plume of smoke diverted planes from Birmingham Airport. It would have been enough to kill the business but the family pulled through and it has carried on operating to this day.

    After several years working in the wine industry, Katherine used the rebuilding of the business as inspiration to create a new rum brand. She’s also a military spouse and as such the Royal British Legion provided advice to help her get funding to build the brand.

    The base rum is sourced from the Diamond Distillery in Guyana and apple wood chips from their own orchards (that grow the fruit to be covered in delicious toffee) is used to cold smoke the rum by running a pipe into an old stainless steel tank with an oak lid, that was previously used to hold apple juice.
